Catching Up, The Finale!

Ok, here we are in the final stretch of catching up! We're up to Chanukah! This year I think I have perfected my latkes. I have the secret figured out...

Our Chanukah feast (including some leftover brisket from the High Holidays--thanks Carl!).

Solly approves.

Babaloo opens his first gift.

And he approves.

Solly enjoying his Chanukah "Little People". (Thanks, Scott, Dawn, Michael, and Rachel!)

We went to a Chanukah party at Ephraim's house. It was really fun!

The best photo I got of the three boys playing.

Solly always ran over to Ephraim's kitchen to play. Little did he know he'd have his own the next day!

On the way home from the fun party.

On the night after the last night, we had Ephraim and family over to our house for latkes and vegetarian treats.

The boys are finally able to play together, although I think Ephraim isn't so sure about having to share Solly's toys... Good practice for both of them!

The new kitchen! The boys really worked on it.

Solly on his new trike! (Thanks GG!)

With Chanukah past us, and more notably, this horrible quarter done, we took a night to go to "ZooLights" with Erica and Chris. Bundling up for the big event.

It was pretty hard to take photos there, but I did at least get one to prove we were there!

The best shot I got of all of us!

So with that, I am officially caught up! I still have some photos from yesterday in Pasadena, but at least I have posted up til then. This was a pretty tough quarter for me, exacerbated by the crash of my hard drive during finals week. So I'm thankful to be able to look back at all of the fun we had. I can already see a difference in Solly since October!

Love to all.

Catching Up, Part 3

Ok, now I'm up to November and Thanksgiving! Melissa, Luc, and Amelia came to visit, and we took a nice walk around Point Defiance. Amelia trying to keep warm...

Solly checking out the native plants (and thinking about eating some red berries, uh oh!).

My birthday cake, a core of chocolate and butter, glazed with another kind of chocolate with butter. So good...

Our friend Jim's "stomach stretcher" party, a pre-Thanksgiving feast. There were lots of bigger kids there. Solly really likes to play with bigger kids, even though he quickly found he was out of his league that night.

Speaking of grown up...

Lots of new hobbies! Smelling spices (a daily activity)...

We like this one!

Sitting at his new table and reading...

Thanksgiving was finally here! Dressing up to go to Amelia's party.

The family at the party.

Hanging with Joe at the party.

Amelia and her Mommy...

Melissa surveying the feast pre-dinner.

The feast!

Gobble, gobble!

Solly is learning great habits from other kids.

Luc and I in matching outfits...

Our community was rocked by the shooting of four police officers, as you likely know. The procession went past Solly's daycare, so the teachers got together and made a giant banner. The older kids held it up as the procession passed and then they sent it to the Lakewood Police Department. You can see Solly's hand print near the "T".

Phew, I am at least up to December! Next up, Chanukah!

Catching Up, Part 2

Next up, Halloween and some fun visitors. Uncle Al stopped by during a business trip. We had a nice meal at home and caught up.

A visit from Benjamin, so we could meet his new fiancee, Lisa!

Bubbe and Poppy visited in October, so we took the opportunity to go out to the opera! Me and Peter went out as grownups!

Getting ready for some alone time.

A trip to Toys R Us to brainstorm for Chanukah.

But first, prepping for Halloween!

My product.

Peter's product.

Our little monkey breaking in the costume.

We went to a bunch of events pre-Halloween, to make sure we got the most out of our costume! "Zoo Boo" at the Point Defiance Zoo.

A monkey checking out the meerkats.

A monkey checking out the lemurs.

A monkey checking out tortoises at the Tacoma Nature Center "Creatures of the Night".

Making a puppet of his favorite animal, an OWL!

Finally, Halloween was here! We spent the evening at the Proctor Treats and a house party of a friend.

Elon the Monster was there, too!

He had a great time, all told! Seems like a long time ago now...
