This quarter was busy, but not so busy that we didn’t have some fun!
We took him to his first concert, “Tiny Tots” at the Seattle Aquarium. It was only half-an-hour long, and was relatively cheap. Perfect for a toddler!
Before the concert started, they had instruments in the lobby to play with.
Solly spent the first 15 minutes facing the wrong way, mostly admiring the seats and the lights and the other kids. Once he got used to it, he sat and watched the concert, clapping and singing when prompted. He LOVED it!
After the concert, we hung out in Seattle, window shopping and eating fish sandwiches at Pike Place Market.
Bubbe and Poppy Ira came for a brief visit. I think Ira is finally bonding with Babaloo.
Solly showed his Bubbe how grown up he is—getting a haircut and eating a WHOLE bean burrito.
The four of us attended “Purim in the Jungle”, an African jungle-themed Chabbad party. Solly already had a monkey costume, so he fit right in.
A lot of his buddies were there, too!
Elon came as a jungle cow, Kadriana as an Elephant, and Ephraim went with an African theme.
The Rabbi, who was dressed as a tiger (!) read the whole Magillah, really quickly! Solly was a real trooper.
Lately, the teachers at daycare have been having a little fun with hairdos. We never know what we’re gonna get when we pick Solly up!
All in all, we’ve been having a great time watching Solly grow up. Tonight he went to a Japanese Hibachi restaurant for the first time. He LOVED it! Food, fire, cooking, giant drums, samurais—it was toddler heaven!
Winter was my last quarter of teaching for a while. Invertebrate Zoology was a blast, especially since Solly was a guest in my class (held off campus at a teaching marine station) a few times.
That’s the gist of the past few months. I have some photos of specific trips (Pasadena and San Diego) and events (Passover) yet to post, but at least I got this far!
More soon!
